What is Wakaf Masyarakat Singapura?
Wakaf Masyarakat Singapura (WMS) is a multi-asset Islamic endowment fund in Singapore launched in 2024 and aimed at providing sustainable and long-term financial support for the socio-religious needs of the Muslim community in Singapore.
This isn’t just another donation. Your wakaf contribution is pooled with others in the WMS Corpus, preserved and perpetually invested to generate a net income. While your contribution remains intact, only this income will be disbursed to beneficiaries in particular:
> Supporting mosques and madrasahs, including for land lease renewals
> Strengthening the Asatizah sector, including training and upskilling programmes
> Supporting socio-religious programmes to uplift the Muslim community

- Unlike general donations (sadaqah), wakaf provides long-term benefits as the initial contribution is kept intact to generate returns for the cause.
- Donations given to non-wakaf funds are generally utilised immediately in the short-medium term. For Wakaf donations, only the income generated from the initial contribution are disbursed. Each fund serves specific beneficiaries.
- Donations to WMS are not tax deductible.
